Find All The Answers Fast Here! ### What is the difference between painting and refacing? Painting involves applying a coat of paint to the cabinet surfaces, which can be a temporary fix and may not hold up against wear and tear. Refacing, on the other hand, involves replacing cabinet frames, doors, drawers, and veneers with high-quality materials like thermofoil or laminates. It’s a more durable and aesthetically pleasing solution compared to simple painting. ### How long does the refacing process take? The refacing process typically takes between 3 and 5 working days, depending on the size and complexity of the kitchen. This duration is relatively short compared to a full kitchen remodel or kitchen renovation, which can take several weeks. During refacing, the structure of your cabinets remains intact, and the focus is on upgrading the exteriors, which contributes to the efficiency of the process. ### How durable are thermofoil and laminates? Thermofoil and laminates are highly durable materials used in cabinet refacing. Thermofoil is a type of vinyl that's vacuum-pressed onto cabinet surfaces, making it resistant to moisture and easy to clean. Laminates are made from layers of paper and resin, pressed together under high pressure, and are known for their strength and ability to replicate various textures and designs. Both materials are excellent for long-lasting kitchen cabinetry, and with the right care, many customers enjoy them for years.
